Hobbit themed pub with a lot of rustic character. There are Hobbit ornamental statues and paintings inspired from the story. The huge beer garden is fantastic and offers open and sheltered spaces. Unfortunately there is no wheelchair access to the garden. The drinks are very reasonably priced. There are different offers and events depending on what day of the week it is, including open mic and live bands.
Dog friendly. Great staff. Lovely atmosphere. Awesome cocktails, reasonably priced. Served in a pint, how cocktails should be.

Nice little pub with lots of choice for drinks and food. Amazing chicken strips (super crispy batter) very pricey burgers l. Didn't try them as some were 16 quid a go so I can't comment to how good they are or if they're worth that price. They had lots of ales and Asahi on tap! But it wasn't on when I went. No parking- can stop for one hour on the road at side of pub. They have a beer "garden" (benches outside)
I bloody love this pub! We come here after going to the climbing wall. The staff are lovely. Theres a great selection on the menu and everything that I've tried has been great. Thank you x

Goto pub for a good meal. The food mostly comes in time and is never over cooked. Only issue I have is with the tap water which has a metallic taste, lucky it is diluted with ice. The Staff is a mixture of emotions, some seemed drained but many were rather enthusiastic.
Standard Spoons. Lovely outside seating area with lots of plants and flowers. Only stopped for a drink so cannot comment on food. I did find it strange that a table is positioned almost right in front of the coffee machine.

Good food on the Sunday-Thursday menu. Bit slow on service so don't expect a quick turnaround. But nice if you want a slow evening with friends/family.
Lovely food brilliant service highly recommend Nicole's restaurant and reasonably priced

I don't have much experience with Vietnamese cuisine, but what I tasted here was fantastic. Ingredients felt fresh, the meat was of high quality and the seasoning of noodles and soup simply perfect. Then you add the kindness of the staff and the very fair prices, and the picture is complete! We have visited there two times and we will visit again. Highly suggested.
Amazing, just amazing. The service is phenomenal; the staff are so welcoming, accommodating and friendly, the food is terrific and the price is great. I’m totally addicted. This is authentic and rivals our favourite Vietnamese restaurants in London! Veggie summer rolls all year round and the Kansan cheesecake is out of this world. I haven’t been able to find it anywhere else. Everything is fresh and homemade, and the kitchen tailor to your needs. Perfection.

Great food, friendly staff, reasonably priced and decent location near the university.
Authentic mouth-watering Chinese dishes. Reasonably priced. Quality food. Friendly staff. As a Hongkonger, I am sure it is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Southampton. 👍

Nice variety of food and not too pricey
Great food, went for the buffet which costs a little over £13 and also comes with starters and appetisers, staff very friendly, helpful and polite. Ordered a pint of cobra and a glass of wine with the meal and the wine was a large glass, drinks came to about £10. So for about £38 for two people with all you can eat is very good value. Will definitely be back, especially as I enjoy my curries and my wife likes Chinese.

Excellent service and food fantastic. Staff first class and decore is wonderful
Brought a take away for my Grandfather who is really picky with his choice and quality of food. Ordered a off the menu chinese specialty, "Ho-Fun Stir Fry with Fish & Beancurd (Tofu). Having tasted a bite myself first, I must say I was impress with the freshness of Fish & Beancurd and the flavour was perfectionist. My Grandfather ate it all and left me with nothing but the smell to digust my own hunger. Highly recommend this family run business.

Have been a customer here for the last 4 years. Food has always been good, but lately the main courses seem to be very dry... Extra sauce needed chef!! Would still recommend.
Outstanding! The place was busy, but even with only two staff front of house and two big parties needing feeding to boot, we were served our food with no wait at all. The buffet option is well worth its price.

Sat near the open plan kitchen, I could hear all the hard work going in to the food prep.. shaking, sizzling wok style curry magic.. and boy do they get it right. Spicy cooked, very flavourful result. Service is pleasantly friendly, you feel both welcomed and at home with the chatty staff. I like this place.. “I’ll be back” as the saying goes.
Outstanding Punjabi food and attentive staff. Would have received five stars, but it's always a little too bright and noisy in here for our liking. The wonderful food, however, helps us overlook the deficits.

Awesome food. I tried several items from their menu and I liked all of them. Highly recommended.
Great food ... Value for money for the quality and quantity. Healthy curry with less oil. Quite ambient and decent to sit with family. Great service as well. No long waiting.

Have been many times and can honestly say this is best Indian for miles around. Consistently high quality food, great service and friendly staff and managers.
My first visit yesterday and an absolute treat! I'm no expert on Indian food but my meal was first rate! Lovely friendly service. Will return.

This is my family's go to Italian restaurant. Fantastic, family friendly atmosphere. All of the staff are long term employees and it is great to see them time and time again. Fabulous food cooked in an open kitchen with a great wine selection. Birthday guests get to eat for free and the loyalty scheme is a welcome bonus. Cannot recommend highly enough.
My meal was good but my dad's steak was tiny. They serve your meal on a massive plate and give you the tiniest amount of food. When the food came out in front of my father, it looked like me paid all that money on a bit of meat and the plate! It really was disappointing because it was some good steak too. 😕🍖

A good night out, decent food, good for a group

Went for midweek (work) lunch, thoroughly recommend this little restaurant, the buffet is a little limited but tasty, the pizza is really delicious! ..The meat option doesn't seem so popular with the bargain summertime lunch deal, but i had it nevertheless some of the food was tasty, but a little dry due to being on the grill for some time, understand this is hard to help. The serving staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly. Restaurant and surroundings was very clean and well presented. i look forward to coming again sometime.
The food was pretty good and there was really good service. The staff were so welcoming. It was a cute place to eat and be with friends, would definitely recommend

Cool little cafe with loads of art house extras :)
Excellent food, great value, varied and very fresh, lovely!

I like the atmosphere, casual style and relaxed feel. Nothing posh instead you have a friendly staff, good location, convenient parking and nice menu. Beer is cold, cocktails nice and food tasty. You can also get non alcoholic beer if you drive. From cocktails I like the espresso Martini. As a desert warm chocolate brownie.
Santo Lounge is a real home from home, on a great little corner site in the heart of Shirley High Street. A few tables outside the front and lovely big full width windows that opens right out, so they’re the perfect place for watching the world go by. Serving a fantastic range of food and drinks (including full kids, gluten free and vegan menus) in a really relaxed, welcoming, light and airy space. Interiors aside, it’s the people that make a place, which is lucky as the people of Shirley are a delight.

Lovely on a summer's day with the large windows opened wide. I enjoyed a burger and homemade lemonade on my visit. The burger was a little on the small side with a small amount of coleslaw. The lemonade was delicious, just what I needed on a very warm day
Lovely place. Great atmosphere. Didnt eat here..but food looked good! Coffee was good. 😊

Very helpful staff, nice food, nibbles menu complicated.
This has been our second home for many years and although we sadly see some lovely staff come and go and recently new management, we always feel welcome. What I love that they cater for all ages and there is always a friendly atmosphere. Heather the JD & Diet Coke Lady xx

What's not to like. Great atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great choice of cocktail flavours to experiment with.
Absolutely loved it. Great drinks, friendly staff who knew their cocktails, and otherworldly venue. One of my favourite bars - and not just in Southampton...
28 Bedford Pl, Southampton SO15 2DB, UK – 023 8063 2604
Great cocktails and a good place to catch up. However, all of a sudden at 9pm the music was suddenly ramped up and we could barely hear each other by 10pm there was no way a conversation could take place. We would have danced but it was so quiet and felt a bit silly. By midnight we left and the sky roof was still absolutely dead. It's a shame as the drinks are lush and it started off as a good evening
Lovely friendly staff and a good range of cocktails. There can sometimes be a bit of a wait at the bar but that's I suppose testament to how popular they are. The bottomless brunches are to be highly recommended, not only good value alcohol but tasty food too.
